February 25-March 1

10 English
This week we are finishing our notes on poetry.  We shall look at sound devices and rhythm.  As well, we are doing our 4 minute speeches.  All four minute speeches should be completed by Thursday.  Students will be writing their five minute speeches Friday, and the first two days back from break.  There will be q practise quiz up on line for the poetry unit by Thursday.  There will be a test after the March Break.

11-2/3 History
We are doing the French Revolution this week.  The first three assignments are now due. 

12-0 Candian Geography
WE are doing a unit on the First Nations of Canada.  Students are researching 10 different tribes.  I shall have notes for students by Tuesday.  There will be a quiz up by Wednesday.  There will be a test on Canada's aboriginal people Friday.

February 18-22

11-2/3 History
We have finished Unit I, examining the age of Enlightenment, and the affect it had on societies.  There is a practise quiz online; students can use this as a study aid--the test for unit I will be on Tuesday, February 19th.  Students second assignment is due this week-a presentation on their understanding of the American Revolution.

12-0 Geology
We have finished unit I on Canadian Geography, the geology unit and weather unit.  There is a practise quiz on line; students my use this as a study aid.  The test for this unit will be on Tuesday.  Once the test is written, we shall be continuing with Canada's natural Vegetation and Wildlife.  Then, we move on into People of Canada.  Students need to finish a map of Canada as one of their assignments.

10-English
We are doing a poetry unit, and a speech unit.  So far, we have notes to study on types of poetry, forms of poetry and figures of speech.  There is an on-line quiz up for students to practise their knowledge.  The quiz for this section of the poetry will be held Tuesday.  Then we shall continue with rhythm in poetry, and sound devices.  For speeches, students have completed a two minute and a three minute speech.  This week, we shall be writing a four minute speech on the topic of Friends, and begin delivering them by Thursday.
